The customer is one of the world’s leading providers of supply chain solutions. The company combines its core products of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Logistics to deliver globally integrated, tailor-made end-to-end solutions for eleven core industries. Drawing on in-depth industry know-how and customized IT systems, the Company manages the needs of its customers’ supply chains, no matter how demanding they might be.
The company is managing warehouse for its customer and there are other third-party systems which are used for various other strategic function. One such system is ERP. The disconnect between the WMS and ERP system takes away a lot of operational efficiency by manual method of verifying and validating the information between the two system leading to the problem of synchronization of data.
Looking at the dependency on both of the systems in executing the business on daily basis, the following solution was proposed.
- To automatically extract the information from WMS and push the same to the ERP system periodically
- To extract information from the ERP system and push the same to the WMS system
The customer has the real-time visibility of items right from the ERP system to WMS and was able to manage the predictability of the operations well. It removed the manual intervention for synchronization of the information across the different system
